Venture Overview

Purpose

To further prototype and commercialize Venture 2's Underground Imaging System, based on next-generation ground penetrating radar (GPR), a breakthrough technology for "seeing" underground, mapping and information systems, decision-making support, and cleaning up damaged or contaminated terrain.

Markets

Environmental cleanup companies
Those restoring damaged habitat (such as demining)
Utilities and Construction companies decision-making support

Advantages

Highly productive -- airborne configuration images up to 200 acres per hour
Far less expensive and more reliable than conventional methods (e.g., environmental site surveys often cost $250K using core samples and analysis to characterize the site; this method accomplishes not actual cleanup). Venture 2's UIS delivers far better results for a fraction of the cost
Proprietary technology (advanced radar) a spinoff of SRI in collaboration with a partner consortium
